Who we are
Photoism Studio is a self-portrait photo studio at Unit 104, 519–521 Station St, Box Hill VIC 3128. In this policy, “we” and “us” means Photoism Studio. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- Booking details you give us: your name, email address, mobile number, the session and extras you choose, your booking date and time, and any notes you add.
- Messages: anything you send us by email, phone or Instagram.
- Website activity: which pages you visit and whether you start or finish a booking, collected through the Meta pixel and cookies (see below).
- Your photos: the photos you take in the studio, which we send to you.
Why we collect it
- To confirm and manage your booking, and send you a confirmation email.
- To contact you about your session, for example if we need to change the time.
- To send you your photos and prints.
- To understand how people find and use our website, and to measure and improve our advertising on Facebook and Instagram.
We don’t sell your personal information, and we won’t send you marketing emails unless you ask us to.
Who we share it with
- Google: your booking is stored in our Google Calendar and Gmail, which we use to run bookings.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram): when you book, we tell Meta that a booking happened and its value. To match it to the right Meta account, we send your email address, phone number and name in a scrambled (hashed) form that can’t be read back. We don’t send your notes or any other booking details.
Google and Meta may store information outside Australia, including in the United States. We use them because they protect information to a high standard.
Cookies and the Meta pixel
Our website uses the Meta pixel, a small piece of code from Meta that uses cookies to record visits and bookings. This helps us show our ads to people who are likely to be interested and see which ads work. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and change how Meta uses your information for ads in your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences. The website still works if you block cookies.
How we look after it
Your booking details are kept in our password-protected Google account. We keep them for as long as we need them to run your booking and meet our legal and tax obligations, then delete them.
Seeing or correcting your information
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us and we’ll reply within 30 days.
